Innovative Work

Innovative Work

The school students often find it difficult to write grammatically correct sentences in English. This may be due to their lack of proper acquisition of grammar and grammatical form. Most of the time it is seen that the students who know all the grammatical rules of different tenses couldn’t write  the tense forms like simple past tense and past perfect tense etc, because he/she doesn’t know the different forms of verb-past tense form (V2) and past participle form(V3). Most of the students find it difficult to learn the V1-V2-V3 forms of verbs and write grammatically incorrect sentences
In thus innovative session, I try to tackle this problem. In order to learn the V1-V2-V3 form I wrote small poem through which the students can easily learn the usage of a verb and its V1-V2-V3 form. The poem can be recited like a nursery rhyme. The verbs are taken from our daily life and the action goes on as the life of a school student.

Rise, rise, rise the sun
Rise -rose-risen

Wash, wash, wash your face
Wash-washed-washed.

Wear, wear, wear  the dress
Wear-wore-worn.

Go, go, go to school
Go-went-gone.

Sit, sit, sit on the bench
Sit-sat-sat.

Take, take, take the book
Take-took-taken.

Spell, spell, spell the words
Spell-spelt-spelt.

Stand, stand, stand up
Stand-stood-stood.

Tell, tell, tell the answer
Tell-told-told.

Write, write, write the answer
Write-wrote-written.

Eat, eat, eat the lunch
Eat-ate-eaten.

Play, play, play games
Play-played-played.

Come, come, come here
Come-came-come.

Sing, sing, sing a song
Sing-sang-sang.

Draw, draw, draw the picture
Draw-drew-drawn.

Win, win, win the price
Win-won-won.

Ring, ring, ring the bell
Ring-rang-rung.

Drink, drink, drink the tea
Drink-drank-drunk.

Do, do, do the work
Do - did -  done.

Read, read, read the text
Read-read-read.

Learn, learn, learn the poem
Learn-learnt-learnt.

Sleep, sleep, sleep well
Sleep-slept-slept.

Through this poem the students could easily learn the usage of a verb and the V1-V2-V3 form. Since the poem is in the form of a nursery rhyme, the students can easily by-heart it. The proper knowledge above the verbs will help them to them grammatically correct sentences
